Van Hout USA & Amos-Hill Associates Join Forces

New Albany, Indiana, February 25, 2025 -- Birdseye Holdings, LLC, the parent company of Van Hout USA, LLC, has signed an option agreement to purchase the property, plant, and equipment of Amos-Hill Associates, Inc.  The transaction is scheduled to be completed on July 1, 2025. 

Dries Geurts, President and owner of Birdseye Holdings, said “I am excited to add production capabilities to our veneer business and look forward to continued success at both Companies.” 

With the acquisition of an operating veneer mill, Van Hout USA has further expanded its production capabilities to provide both Amos-Hill and Van Hout customers with high-quality hardwood veneers.  Amos-Hill Associates expects to continue producing veneer at full plant capacity for a long time as Dries Geurts is the youngest owner in the industry.

Susanne Renner, the selling owner of Amos-Hill Associates, will remain with the Company in a co-management role with Mr. Geurts and is providing substantial financing for the transaction.  Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Both Companies have a long history in the manufacture and sale of natural hardwood veneers.  Van Hout was founded in the Netherlands in 1908 as a clog-making factory and has evolved to become a leader in sliced veneers.  The American sales branch was established in Indiana in 1993.  Amos-Hill Associates was formed in the early 1900’s as well and has nurtured a reputation for producing high-quality white oak and walnut veneers since 1982 at its facility in Edinburgh, Indiana.
